Support Advent's Outreach

Advent Episcopal Church reaches out far beyond our immediate boundaries to help those in need.  It is very easy for Advent members to participate in these outreach efforts.  By taking a few minutes to set up an account at Amazon.com, a certain percentage of the money you spend is donated directly to Advent.  The same is true with an account at escrip.com, where you may link your grocery club cards and credit cards to your escrip account.

Clergy and Staff

Advent Episcopal Church enjoys the dedicated services of clergy, staff members and volunteers who help fulfill our mission. They include:

Rector

 Gabe.Sinisi@adventepiscopalaz.org

The Reverend Gabriel A. Sinisi MD is the third Rector of Advent Episcopal Church.  Fr. Gabe practiced Internal Medicine in New Jersey for over 20 years.  He answered the call to change his career to the Episcopal priesthood in 1992.  He graduated from The School of Theology of the University of the South, Sewanee Tennessee in 1997.  He served churches in New Jersey and Florida before answering the call to come to Church of the Advent where he was installed as Rector in January of 2006.

The theme of his ministry is that we should follow the Great Commandment Jesus gave us - love God, love one another; and follow Jesus’ Great Commission to preach the Gospel, baptize and make disciples for Christ.

Fr Gabe’s tenure at Advent has been marked by steady growth of the parish in both attendance and ministry.

The Reverend Janet R. Gooltz, DMin began theological studies while raising four children.  A “cradle” Episcopalian, she is a graduate of Weston Jesuit School of Theology and holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care from the Graduate Theological Foundation.  Following ordination in 1984 she became the first Director of Pastoral Care at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. She is board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains.   Much of her work was with patients, families, and medical staff assisting with end-of-life treatment decisions.  Janet also served as assisting priest in the church of her childhood in Lexington, MA.

In 2007 Janet and her husband retired to Sun City West where she soon became involved in Advent’s liturgical ministry.  In the SCW community, Janet is a member of the Citizen’s Corps Council and is a Fire Corps Volunteer.

JeNiene Dimond began as Parish Administrator at Advent in 2006.  A former Librarian with a degree in Business Administration, she moved to AZ from WY. She is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly for clergy and parishioners with the help of able Advent volunteers.
