Outreach - Our Outreach Committee oversees and coordinates the ministry outside the parish family.

Lay Ministers - Assist in the worship service.

Altar Guild - A group of dedicated ladies that prepares the altar for worship at the Eucharist, weddings, funerals and other ceremonies.

Ushers - Assist at worship services and other ceremonies.

Advent Choir - provides the music ministry at the Eucharist, weddings, funerals and other ceremonies

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) - meets the second Thursday of each month, 1:00 p.m. in Paine Hall, October through April. 

Advent Men's Club - Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month starting at 8:00 a.m. with Morning Prayer Service followed by breakfast, meeting and a program in Paine Hall - October through May.  Throughout the summer, the Men's club meets for breakfast fellowship on the first, non-holiday Tuesday at 7:30am at a local eatery.  Contact the office for the place.

Mary of Bethany Guild - A women's study group that meets the first Wednesday of each month October through May.

Academy of Christian Studies - Offering a variety of educational programs for the serious study of the Christian faith with applications to our daily lives.  Bible Study is each Wednesday at 11am in the Parish Hall.  The Rev. Bob Sola is the moderator.

Caregiving Committee - Church members assist the clergy with visitation to parishioners who are ill, lonely or shut-in.

Sunshine Committee - Hand-written cards are sent to the sick and family member(s) of a deceased parishioner.

Larder - Food from the church larder is distributed to parish members and bereaved on a as need basis.

Bereavement Ministry Committee - Works with the clergy to assist the bereaved plan the memorial service and reception honoring the deceased.  Initiates referral to the Good Mourning Program, a grief support group.

"ADVENT"urous Bakers - Advent's successful bake sales held throughout the year are made possible by this talented group.

Friendship Dinners - Friendship dinners are held on the Second Sunday of November, January, February, March and April.  The November dinner will be a potluck in Paine Hall.  All others are held in the homes of parishioners.

Ladies Friday Bridge - Meets the Third Friday each month, year-around at 12:30 in Paine Hall.  All ladies invited, no partner required.

Ladies Marathon Bridge - find a partner and join the fun.  All ladies welcome.  Bridge games are held in private homes.

Couples Bridge - Meets the Third Wednesday, October through May at 7:00 p.m. in Paine Hall.

Social Hour Hostesses - We encourage you to sign up to serve cookies and beverages following our 10:00 a.m. service (9:00 a.m. during July and August). 

Greeters and Oblation Bearers - At Advent we have a strong feeling of "family" and make sure all people attending for the first time are made welcome by our Advent Greeters.  All visitors are given a gift of a stained glass cross and requested to sing our "Register."  Oblation bearers take bread and wine to the altar during Sunday services.

Public Relation's Committee - Contact if you have an Advent event you would like mentioned in our local newspaper.

Prayers of the People - A representative of the congregation is invited to lead the "Prayers of the People" at Sunday Services.

Newcomers - Newcomers are important to the parish.  This committee monitors the guest book, gives newcomers tours of the facility, introduces them to members, and generally makes sure newcomers are welcomed.

Blessing of the Animals on St. Francis Day - Parishioners bring their pets to a special outside service to receive a blessing.

Altar Flowers - You are invited to glorify God by beautifying His altar with flowers. Select the Sunday(s) of  our choice for memorials, in thanksgiving or special occasions ($30 each arrangement).  Sign up sheet in Paine Hall or call church office.

Christmas planning - This group plans worship, educational, outreach and social activities during these important seasons.

Lent/Easter planning - This group plans an appropriate observance of Lent and worship, educational, outreach and social activities of the Easter Season.

The Parish Church Fabric Committee - Responsible for the decor of the church the selection of art objects for the Church and grounds.

All Soul's Chapel - Historically, many Episcopalians have chosen to be buried near their church.  Advent established All Souls Chapel, a walled area adjacent to the Church in which the cremated ashes of those who have departed may be interred and honored with a plaque.  There is the Memorial Garden where the ashes of the departed are buried in the ground, a Columbarium where the ashes of the departed are kept in a wall crypt and a Wall of Rememberance where a plaque honoring the departed who is interred elsewhere may be honored.

Memorials and Gifts - From time to time a list of suggested items for gifts and memorials will be published.

Nametags - Wearing nametags helps us to know each other better.  If you need a nametag or your tag is in need of replacement or repair, please call.

Advent Luminary - The Luminary is the newsletter of the parish.  It is published ten times a year to inform all our parish family about the worship, outreach and social activities of the parish.

Library - We have a library with many books and publications dealing with our Christian journey are kept, cataloged and available for use by all parishioners and guests.  All are welcome to use the library for reading and meditation.  Our history is well recorded by the use of photographs and other documents are kept in the History Books that are kept in the library.

Tract Rack - Timely publications of interest to Episcopalians and other Christians are kept in this rack, located in Paine Hall.
