Vestry - Legal governing and decision-making body of a parish church, consisting of the rector and elected lay representatives. Its duties include calling the Rector, approving the budget, making policy, and approving expenditures. Each vestry has a Senior and a People's Warden*. Each member of Advent's Vestry is in responsible for a major ministry area. Please feel free to contact any of them if you have questions or concerns. * The People's Warden is so called because this office is elected by the people of the Parish. In some churches, this office is called Junior Warden. Advent is using the traditional title of People's Warden to emphasize the elected status and responsibility of the position. |
